Review on Chicken Soup for the Soul Pet Food - Adult Dog - Beef and Brown Rice Recipe - All Natural, Grain Free Dry Dog Food with Real Ingredients by Donald Shah

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Healthier, natural dog food, but BEWARE: Can lead to nasty flatulence!

My dog is a picky eater (he would eat firewood if we let him) so he ate this new food with no qualms. Although we mixed it with her old food to give her time to adjust, this food seems to cause gas, at least initially, because she farted for the first week. Luckily this seems to have subsided because, let me tell you, those were powerful bombs that she detonated! However, aside from this temporary uncomfortable result, she seems to like the food and there were no other adverse effects. This food is arguably more expensive than the 'regular' dry dog food options, but I don't think the cost is unjustified given that it appears to be a healthier option, with meat as the first ingredient and no preservatives or artificial Colours/Flavours. . . I can read and recognize almost all the ingredients, so I think it's good! There's also no soy, corn or wheat, so dogs with litter intolerance shouldn't have a problem. There are definitely a lot more expensive products out there, so I like that this strikes a decent balance and offers a nutritious, all-natural option at a reasonable price. Chicken soup for adult dogs.
