I was very hesitant to order this as I didn't want to spend my money on something that didn't work, but to my pleasant surprise it worked great the first time! My 3 dogs love walking along the fence with the neighbor's dog, but if the neighbor's dog stops, one of my dogs will bark incessantly until either the neighbor's dog runs away again or the human neighbors call their dog into the house. Pressing the ultrasonic button not only makes my barking dog stop barking instantly, but to my surprise, he immediately turns around and runs back into the house. Hopefully that doesn't mean his ears hurt, so in case I'm just going to try it as a last resort - I also don't want him to get so used to it that it doesn't work that I'm trying not to abuse it . I would also like to mention that on the first try I walked out into the yard and stood maybe 5-10 feet away and then tried staying on the screened patio which could be 40-50 feet from the fence and it still worked right away . I'm very happy and I think my neighbors are probably too! I highly recommend it!
