Review on Pisces AM-GOLD018 Natural Spiderwood (Medium, 14-18 inches): Versatile and Authentic Décor for Aquatic Environments by Nik Dingaling

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Very disappointed but still better than average. You have to read to understand.

Let me start by being an honest reviewer. 3 stars meet expectations for price and quality. I give this 4 stars and I am not completely satisfied with my order. That's how good the product is, but the description is a bit off. I bought the 18" part and was expecting an 18" part like the one pictured. If I get that it would be a solid 3 star race rating from me. It's far from what I got but I still give it 4 stars. That is the reason. The 18" part I ordered is far from the 18", it's much smaller. If it was a full 18 inch film I would call Amazon and try to get them to allow a 6 star rating. The piece I received is much smaller than I expected. However, it was very well packaged and delivered safe and sound, and I used the worst couriers and FedEx couriers on the planet. Fragile this side up these are just recommendations not the truth for my couriers. I often have to send things 3-4 times before I receive a useable item. it said. My Spider Word, although much smaller than the advertised 18 inches, is a very good solid piece. I wanted this to be the main focus in my daughter's fish tank but after I got it. it is too small to serve this purpose. Luckily, the Seven Seas got a 10 star rating for the dragon stone they sent me as it's made up of big enough pieces to be the center of attention. It kind of helped them here and also why it doesn't get 5 stars. Many will ask why then you give them 4 stars and not 3 or 2 (buy my normal standard this sore will be 2). The answer is simple. Although the product is much smaller than advertised, it is a very original and natural item with a lot of character. It's hard to find someone with aquascaping experience and many parts look the same as the others just a little different. That alone would have given me a 3/5, although it was less than I expected because it looks so good. extra star? This is because you get driftwood most of the time and you have to soak it for days or weeks before you can submerge it in your aquarium. I was expecting a good soak for 3-4 days after boiling it in a pot for a few hours as it is a spider wood it sinks faster than many other aquascaping woods. I threw this piece in a bucket, filled it with water and it never floated! I'm going to soak it overnight anyway because I'm anal and it's getting late. but I will put this piece in my aquarium after work tomorrow and there will be no problems swimming. For those who know how important this is, it's worth the extra star as it saved me 2 weeks of work and waiting, allowing me to finish this tank right away. I'm glad I made this purchase and will be buying the rest of the hooks from them from now on. I'll post some pics later when it's in the tank but so far the water is still clear after 3 hours of soaking in the bucket so the tannin level is very low even for a submerged root. Okay, I'll come back to add a fifth star because after playing around with the setting I still managed to make the spider tree the main focus in the aquarium. Please excuse the cloudy water in the tank as I literally just finished this a few minutes ago in my daughter's room.
