Review on 🎁 Rolife Machine 3D Toys: Unleash Your Creativity for Christmas and Valentines by Brian Elliott

Very difficult, not in a "funny/complex " way.

I'm giving this one 3 stars because it's pretty cool when it's finished. I give 1 star for the easy assembly. This is the third Rolife branded music box my son and I have completed and while it doesn't look like it, it's MUCH more complicated than ever. My 9 year old chose this box and ended up being able to do almost none of it himself which was a shame. At least with the other sets, he was able to put most of the pieces together. Aside from the fact that the glue was worse than the other kits (it's a jelly-like white glue, not clear sticky glue), NONE of the parts fit together. I had to sand each edge before assembly and there were many parts, many of which were very brittle. And because of the filigree construction and mechanics, it was extremely difficult to connect certain parts together, as it required a lot of pressure, which, however, could not be applied without breaking the thin wood. Most of the time was spent sanding again, realizing the piece didn't even come close, and sanding some more. We didn't even use some crappy glue because the parts were so tight. Luckily all the mechanical components inside still worked towards the end (despite the inevitable pushing and tipping trying to put the pieces together) and the finished music box is really cool. But I was disappointed that there was so little my son could do and based on previous kits I know the laser cut could have been MUCH more precise for an easier connection. For some reason, when my son chose this one, it seemed almost too easy to me. Not correct. Long time.
