Office Star WorkSmart Professional Eco-leather Ergonomic Chair with Dual Function and High Back

Very fast delivery for such a large item. I got the burgundy color because it was the only chair left in stock. The chair is also available in black. Both colors suit me. The assembly is very simple. I had it from the box to sitting in it in less than 15 minutes. Only one tool is required - the hex wrench that comes with the chair. Six hex screws, three knobs, slide things into their slots and you're done. Be sure to tighten all screws, including those already installed. This office chair is a little different from other office chairs I've had as it can be adjusted almost indefinitely. It starts at rest, with all the locking levers released and the seat awkwardly tilted forward - both the back of the seat in relation to the seat and the seat itself are tilted forward. You should snuggle into this chair when you first sit, then sit however you like and lock the settings once you get used to your seating position. A forward-reclining empty chair looks odd at first, but you'll soon find that you love and use this unique recline feature often. and locking lever)) and the seat also tilts back and forth with a separate locking lever. It's a bit uncomfortable at first to lean forward in the chair when sitting in it. But I soon discovered that this is a very desirable feature, allowing me to bend over the table but still have my back in full contact with my back, which keeps my spine in the correct position. I don't think other office chairs have this feature. The reclining area of the seat also allows me to lean back and relax. There is positive spring pressure to return the chair to its forward position to keep the chair from wobbling. The tension on this spring is not adjustable, although it appears there once was a spring tension adjustment knob. You can lock the seat tilt at any angle by pressing the appropriate lever. Most of the time I leave the seat recline unlocked so I can lean forward or backward frequently and easily. The backrest is vertically adjustable. and also leans forward or backward in relation to the seat. This allows you to adjust the angle of the backrest and seat to your liking - and change it at any time by simply pulling the locking lever up to release the latch and pushing the lever down when you need the angle - all without getting up . As a general rule, the seatback should fit snugly against your back, regardless of seat angle. In this way you avoid straining your back by bending forward without support. Because both the seat and backrest angle are independently adjustable, you have more freedom of movement for a comfortable position. I love when the backrest is adjusted to its maximum height which gives my bum more room to slide back onto the seat and in turn the backrest gives me more support for my lower back. I fix the angle of the backrest with the seat after sitting on the chair. As a result, the backrest fits snugly against my back. When I feel like laying back with my feet flat on the table, I release the recline lock for an even more comfortable recline angle. The armrests are also adjustable up and down and in and out so you can find the most comfortable height for your forearms. . and place them below the shoulder as far as your stomach will allow. I set them almost level with the tabletop so I can lean back and still control my trackball easily and without tension. I also really like them so that the armrests are next to my body. The seat and back cushions are well contoured and very thick - just enough to conform to the shape of your body without putting pressure on it. The warranty on this chair is one of the most generous I've seen: 15 years on solid parts, 5 years on parts, 3 years on upholstery and foam, just keep your proof of purchase where it can be found years later. It's more than I expected from a chair in this price range and I'm very happy with it. I would recommend this chair to my friends. UPDATE (March 3, 2012): After using this chair continuously (10 hours a day) daily for a month now, I have found that all my back pain has gone and this thick seat cushion is as comfortable as it was when I first sat on it. My wife says the chair is ugly to look at and of course there are nicer chairs that I have tried at COSTCO and other office furniture stores. But I prefer comfort to any day - and it remains the most comfortable chair I've ever sat in. UPDATE (December 26, 2013): My armrests (my second pair) are badly worn. I don't know why the armrests wear out like that. The body upholstery (seats and backrests) still looks good.
