Review on Panther XT Men's Recreational Inline Skates by 5th Element by Donald Gore

Not very good

When I first received it, I was impressed. They fit perfectly. My shoes are a size 10 and fit as expected in this size. In almost every way they offer excellent value for money. Despite the looks and perceived quality construction, I faced a persistent ankle support issue. This was annoying and eventually stopped the show. I worked with him and did everything I could think of, but I failed. I wanted to quickly switch from Bauer hockey skates. I still can't figure out exactly why, but even with the straps pulled to the maximum, my left foot had a serious supination issue. Neither my skates nor the pair of inline skates I used for comparison had these issues. I took a close look at my outdoor shoes and hiking shoes and the wear on the soles is almost the same on the left and right. That outside roll really messes things up in right-handed cross corners. The design of these things seems great, but something is wrong with the design. I just wanted to give them goodwill and get something else instead of messing around with returns, but I realized that an unknowing bargain hunter could run into the same problem and screw it up. A NOTICE. If you decide to get these skates, have a pair of 2.5mm allen wrenches (or 5/32") handy. Found (as with some others) that frame and wheel bolts can loosen with use. When you receive your skates, check the tightness of the bolts. I already had these wrenches in my tool box, so it didn't really matter. But if you don't have them, you might want to buy a few from your local hardware store.

Pros
  • Size and wheelset - 82mm diameter wheels provide plenty of speed without much effort and the 82A hardness allows for indoor and outdoor riding.
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly
