Review on Babo Botanicals Mineral Sunscreen Unscented by Shannon Saunders

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Easy to apply, matt and completely transparent! family approved!

I rarely write reviews but this is a sunscreen that I really like. We usually buy Badger for the family safe ingredients, but you get a very white tint for regular Zinc and it's very thick to apply (and I find the Clear Zinc Badger very oily). Enter this sunscreen. It comes thinner out of the tube and is easy to spread. When rubbed well, each shade of white is almost completely invisible (you just need to rub your eyebrows extra). I love that it has 50 SPF so I don't have to put it on my kids too often. I follow the reapply instructions and have had no issues with the burn. It has a great matte finish so I use it on my face. I'm 40 and had some hormonal sunspots during my pregnancy so I'm very careful now. But typically SPF facial products like face moisturizers are only SPF 30 and I don't want to bother with reapplying them as often when I'm in the sun with kids. Note with all of this that it dries quickly and then hardens, at which point you can't rub it any further. So I apply it to my face in small portions and rub it in well. My 7 year old daughter is very aware that she doesn't want to look ghostly white with sunscreen and she absolutely loves this brand. It almost doesn't smell, which is very good. The whole family uses it and we absolutely love it and it's about the same price as the Badger. (We also like the Boba Botanicals Baby Sun Stick for quick application to the face, although it's not quite as matte.)

Pros
  • Great overall performance
Cons
  • Almost everything available
