I heard about the edging/groove feet while watching the M6044 sew. I am making my second model on very cheap cotton fabric. The cheapest you can find! I was afraid. A metal groove or ridge in the center of the foot can cause dents. Or even fraying the fabric because it's of such poor quality. Don't worry, it worked like clockwork. I sewed the buttons onto a different layout, and let's just say the drunks walked in a straighter line during sobriety tests. The border was uniform. I noticed that I was letting the fabric ride up the leg, which of course would affect the clearance. But the leg can still only take a limited amount of these clusters if you're not careful.
