Review on 📻 Tecsun R9700DX: Advanced 12-Band Dual Conversion AM/FM Shortwave Radio for Exceptional Listening Experience by Flavio Iyer

(UPDATE) -- The tuning capacitor has failed. Now it has become very difficult to use on the AM and HF bands as the tuning capacitor seems to be defective. Based on previous experience of faulty Tecsun products, I will not cause myself any inconvenience even if I try to deal with their rude and dishonest customer service. Most portable so-called "analog" radios, I think 99% or more, are now DSPs. (Digital Signal Processing) and this causes tuning problems for the AM and HF bands. The DSP uses step tuning, which usually makes it very difficult to find signals because you can easily miss them due to the muting during tuning and the density of the steps. Once you detect a signal, the DSP will mute when the signal fades (both shortwave and AM have fading signals by their very nature), causing you to miss what's being said. Not only that, DSP radios have terrible battery life compared to analog radios, often they only have 1/4 the battery life of an analog radio. This radio is 100% true analogue. It sounds very good, cranks it up loud, works well on all bands, has incredible battery life. Great receiver. It comes with a HF/FM antenna, headphones and a power adapter.
