A good product that takes some getting used to.

To set the tone, I have a desktop, a few laptops and a Raspberry Pi, and the occasional machine that I can work with for someone else. There is so much space in my home office and so many monitors and such that I can connect to everything. I bought this unit specifically for my work laptop to give a second screen to my desktop computer which has 2 monitors attached. I also intend to connect the Pi but haven't connected one yet. In general, the product is reliable. This allowed me to connect one of my monitors, keyboard and mouse to it and use them on different computers. The switch now connects and disconnects peripherals with each change. So note that if you use it as a second monitor and switch while the first computer is still active, it's like disconnecting the monitor and all applications return. to the first screen. But for me it's ok. Imagine I was in the office and turned off the monitor to go to a meeting or location. It's a bit frustrating when you didn't really go anywhere and just had to switch, but it's not the end of the world. One problem I had intermittently was the monitor connection losing connection or something. The screen flickered or in one case behaved like the monitor was not found. In this case, I've found that switching to a different computer can fix the problem, or simply restarting the computer I'm on. Again disappointment, but not the end of the world. I only notice the problem once every few weeks, it happens once in the morning and I'm fine for the rest of the day and beyond. Basically, if you have a little patience and understand the limitations of technology, this is a great way to save money. Space and money for monitors, keyboards etc.
