Another plus: There is a circle of raised plastic at the base that lifts the bowl off the table by about 2/3 inches. The positive is that you can hold on to it at the bottom. When there is boiling liquid in your bowl, it is very easy to carry because it is so high and there is such a large isolation buffer at the bottom to carry. The last part is the weight. I do not care. Although a bowl of this size is very light. Some might not like it as premium items tend to be heavy. I find the shell high quality and at the same time light in my opinion. very good bowl for the price.
