I hooked this up to my projector (Panasonic AE4000) first and was happy because I could now place the projector across the room. It really worked so I didn't think about it. Over the next few weeks, the image disappeared intermittently, as if the projector couldn't see the signal. I couldn't understand it because I blamed everything on the projector. This is starting to be an "old" projector, so it wasn't hard at all. I tried a different lamp as well as different height settings and thought it was just overheating that I had seen in the past. But the problem has not gone away. So we decided to just go back to the old TV so we could play the Wii without dying during one of those intermittent power outages. I removed the cable from the projector and connected it to the TV because it was easier than looking for the original HDMI cable I was using. I spent the next 20 minutes trying to figure out why I couldn't take a picture. I've tried every input on my TV to no avail. I ended up trying a different cable. Worked great. I suspect that different devices react differently to poor quality cables. My TV just refused to display anything. (It's cheap TCL.) My projector showed it but restarted intermittently. There are probably dozens of electronic devices that will work just fine with this cable. But I don't have two.
