LIVE CENTER ZLC03002MT3 Medium Center Review

After the dead end blew the threads out of my tailstock I figured a live center piece might be needed. This one did the trick and seems to be just as good as any of the more expensive ones I've owned over the years.

Arrived as expected in good condition. During long-term turning, the batch heated up significantly more than the smaller block that had been in use for years - continuous use in our warehouse. This means that the bearings are of lower quality than on a block bought elsewhere a few years ago.

Worked but then took a pretty light hit and bent badly. I've used at least a dozen live centers and none have failed as easily as this one. That being said, unless you're an idiot like me and accidentally hit him with a giant machine, he'll probably do the job for you. And for the price, it could be worse. Both stars were just for durability, not how well it actually worked.
