Review on πŸŒ€ Noctua NF-F12 iPPC-2000 PWM: Heavy Duty Cooling Fan for Optimal Performance and Cooling (120mm, Black) by Seth Gomez

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great fan, but may not be the right one for your needs

I was immediately struck by how well built this fan is. It is powerful, durable and efficient. It moves a lot of air, even at very low revs. Unfortunately I ended up sending it back. But why am I still giving it 5 stars? Because they don't advertise this fan as a silent fan! The noise was my only complaint. It's quite loud, even at around 700-1000 rpm you can hear it when there's no ambient noise and you don't have headphones. I am very picky about noise levels and made the mistake of buying this fan instead of Noctua's premium quiet fans. Noise levels are largely subjective, so your experience may differ slightly from mine, but remember this fan is designed to move a ton of air, and it's not quiet either. However, at a low 300-500 rpm it's very quiet, but if you push it that hard it can cycle on and off as it's close to the lower voltage limit. You really can't judge the noise level. until you try it yourself. For those looking for a quiet fan, I suggest you check out Noctua's premium quiet fans, which are a little less powerful but MUCH quieter. If you need high performance with high airflow and heatsink/radiator cooling capability, then this is a good choice. I ended up getting a Noctua NH-D15S CPU cooler and now I only need NZXT case fans because this cooler is a real beast keeping my CPU cool. So I hope you can learn from my experience and look elsewhere for a silent fan. All in all a great product if it suits your needs.
