LESS THAN TWO YEARS DISTANCE POINT. TO BUY.

Bought these bulbs more than 3 (three) years ago, amortized in two years! Here's our story. We stumbled across them a few years ago while looking in a new fridge they were in. Advantages? Light, clean and modern. We liked it. Back? Expensive. Bright side? Your energy savings increase every time you open the fridge, day after day, day after day, like compound interest, which is one of the great money-saving secrets, we love it. Alright, here's our situation. We live in an area with ridiculously expensive electricity bills, we average about (35) cents per kilowatt, yes you read that right, (35) cents per kilowatt [currently we pay [41] cents per kilowatt. Kilowatt. So that's what happened, our lightbulbs started to burn out. We have four from the side of the fridge, one. Let's do some simple math. Then we bought a replacement and paid ($7.44) for each. But let's say the bulbs cost ($9) each. So four (4) bulbs cost ($36). We appreciate that our family has this fridge open for at least an hour a day. So four (4) x (40) watts (incandescent) = (160) watts daily use. Multiply (365) days x (160) watts per day = (58+) kilowatts per year. So now let's take these (58) kilowatts of electricity consumed during the year and multiply our cost per kilowatt, which is (35) cents = approximately ($20) annual electricity costs per year. Now these LED bulbs only consume about (10%) electricity. So our cost per year for LED bulbs is not ($20) but ($2) per year. That's ($18) SAVINGS per year. So, after two (2) years, the energy savings for these bulbs will have paid for themselves. We have just completed Year 3 (3) and have entered Year 4 (4). Lightbulbs work perfectly. So the moral of the story is, in the long run, buy these bulbs to save money and give your fridge a clean, bright (we love the color) and modern look. (Your break-even savings depend on your bulb and electricity bills. Oh, by the way, we auctioned bulbs to recoup our costs; and be careful, touching bulbs will burn your fingers., LED NO !*If you found my review helpful, please let Revain know by clicking the 'Helpful' button below!
