Review on πŸ‘Ÿ Lightweight Athletic Men's Shoes - Topo Athletic Men's Ultraventure, Designed for Comfort by Ivan Carson

Dangerous shoes for athletes

I've just completed my third run in UV 2 and it's incredibly disappointing. This shoe has nothing to do with the original which is a classic. It's essentially a UV Pro without the stone plate and without the Megagrip. In fact, UV Pro is not Ultraventure. Both the UV 2 and UV Pro are sloppy in the upper, the midfoot looks a lot more like an Altra than any other Topo I've worn, and I'm only wearing Topo after switching from Altra in 2019. Trauma is waiting in the wings. In the case of the UV 2, the combination of a significantly softer midsole compared to the original UV, an inability to adjust the heel, and a sloppy upper (essentially the Ultrafly 3 upper) is a recipe for a broken ankle. It's not about the size, they seem to fit the original men's UV US 12 that I wear, but the top just doesn't support it. Topo claims they removed the overlays to make them more comfortable, they were fine in the original and now the upper wants the foot to slide everywhere. This shoe is actually dangerous and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone and it's from a man who only wears topo. They've lost track and the UV Pro, no shoe is like a 'Topo-Fit', they don't even come close. Just don't buy.
