They are thin and comfortable, no noise when moving. It stays flat and I've also found that it doesn't get as hot as its previous bulky mat. For reference, my son is 4.5 years old and has almost never had an accident, 6 months have passed! At the same time, I don't want to take the whole bed down to the mattress again in the middle of the night. It's much easier to maintain anything over a fitted sheet. This is enough to cover a large area. I keep forgetting these waterproof pads in places we've traveled, so I lose them quite often. This is my favorite pillow so far. I highly recommend.
