My dog usually walks around the neighborhood with me and barks at everything! I had to try something to reduce this behavior, but I was very reluctant to use this type of collar. I was very surprised that it worked for me when I first used it. At first my dog pulled but I think he immediately felt the tines and stopped. It's weird to see my dog just sit still in the collar and I don't even hold the leash. Hopefully it will continue to work and my dog will be able to get a normal collar again after some time. I don't think this will hurt my dog because I don't pull like I used to and the rubber coatings on the teeth keep metal from making contact with the skin. I haven't tried the whistle because the collar works well with barking as well, but it's definitely a nice bonus!
