I was delighted to order this paper towel holder for our newly renovated kitchen. Kamenstein has always had a reputation for quality, which I expected. I have to say I am a bit disappointed with this product. The gold is not very shiny, the base resembles the edge of a can and is very light. You really can't always use just one hand to hand out paper towels. This is fine for the first few blades, but as the pulley wears out the chain becomes too light to withstand the ratcheting action. At the same time, I think it's good that you can simply slide the roll down without unscrewing anything. The ratchet system is a great way to distribute paper towels when using two hands. I would like better processing and more weight. Too bad. I'll probably end up replacing it with something nicer.
