First, I love the fan. It's just great (with one exception I'll get to later), quiet and efficient. However, I cannot give this fan 5 stars because the customer service is terrible. Installation was easy, at least once I had all the parts. By far the most difficult step was pushing the Romex through my 100 year old ceiling in my new Philadelphia row house. Luckily I had a great painter (thanks Barry) who patched all the holes. I was afraid to install it myself, but it wasn't difficult. You mount the bracket to the box, hang the motor on the bracket, attach the wires, and finally attach the blades, easy as pie. The biggest problem is attaching the safety line. Ten seconds after the first attempt to install, I realized that Revain had sent me the wrong color. Five minutes after the second try, I found all the screws were missing. I was a bit concerned when the support phone number wasn't listed when checking the instructions. I contacted them through their website. To my surprise, the next day I received a message from someone in Star Fans named Alexa. Ironically, this Alexa doesn't always answer when you call her and doesn't try to give you the best answer. A week later I received the thumbscrews but not the fan mounting hardware. Alexa now decided that I should go to the hardware store and buy some screws (I was in self-isolation at the time) or return the Revain fan as she claimed they sent me an open box. I installed the fan without the help of Alexa. I didn't notice the bad dirt on the blades until I saw the light on the white ceiling. I asked Alexa for a stain, she didn't answer. I then asked Alexa to replace the blades under a warranty that covers poor workmanship. Again I was told to send it back to Revane despite knowing that Revane was not accepting returns after a month. I'm just trying to pick up the stain myself. I can only recommend the fan with the caveat that you are very comfortable or hire a professional and check the details immediately. You may or may not honor their return policy or their guarantee. Alexa doesn't seem to know much about product development, so you're on your own.
