Great remote Zoom webcam for multi-person meetings or large rooms

I've decided to postpone replacing my outdated webcams until the epidemic hype dies down. I have two webcam setups: 1) Personal Computer (PC) with Microsoft HD Studio 1080P LifeCam. This is my daily workstation for personal and business use. 2) Laptop connected to Samsung 65”. For this setup I have a Logitech 1080p C615 webcam. I use this for random zoom meetings and get togethers. In this review I will call it the big screen. Overall, the build quality of the N940P is very good. It has the now very common V-shaped bracket that allows it to be adjusted and attached to most monitors. As with all mounts in this class, it relies on gravity to hold the camera in place. I never saw that as a problem. I have tested NexiGo with both PC and large screen systems. In both cases, the webcam was immediately recognized by Windows 10 and installed without any problems. I tested the camera with Skype and Zoom and it worked flawlessly. Since Zoom meetings have become my most common webcam use, I've spent most of my time testing Zoom. While the default camera settings are fine, I found that by downloading the NexiGo webcam settings from their website (Beta V0.2 in my case) I was able to enhance the video image to my liking. I strongly encourage you to do the same. Comparing Microsoft LifeCam to NexiGo, I found that NexiGo was the clear winner when it came to video quality. The LifeCam had a very soft (some would say washed out) image compared to the NexiGo's sharp image. I felt that the quality of the LifeCam microphone was slightly better. It seemed to have a more balanced sound than the NexiGo, which had a smaller base and picked up a bit of my computer fan. Overall, I definitely prefer NexiGo. My next test was with a large screen build, so I ordered the NexiGo. I have two use cases for setting up a big screen: Case 1: I'm taking a Zoom exercise class where I can see the trainer and I want to be able to see my whole body (like a mirror) and compare what I'm doing . I do against the instructor. This provides excellent personal feedback. Case 2: I'm sitting and relaxing on the couch during a Zoom meeting. In this case, I want others to be able to see me up close. This is where the NexiGo N940P shines with its remote control and digital zoom. All comments below are based on comparisons with Zoom. Compared to videos from a Logitech webcam, the NexiGo's image quality is definitely better. As with the LifeCam, the microphone quality of the C615 was slightly better. Again, it delivered a more balanced sound compared to the NexiGo, and the NexiGo picked up low background hiss. But overall I still think the NexiGo is an excellent camera. I was drawn to the N940P for its digital zoom as I thought it would be perfect for my big screen and family room. I run both online classes and meet ups with friends on Zoom. In online courses I want to see my whole body to see how I fit in with the teacher. During meetings, I like to relax on the couch 12 feet away from the camera so others can see my torso. The remote digital panning and zooming of the camera is great for this. For my use it is perfect. Keep in mind that this is a digital zoom and at full magnification the image has fewer pixels and therefore looks less clear. This is no different than how the digital zoom on your phone camera works. So for my big screen in my living room, the NexiGo N940P is a great solution with its excellent video quality, satisfying sound quality and the ability to expand it to view a room or zoom in on a person using the included remote control. For me, the camera is the winner.
