First I ordered this by mistake. I wanted to buy the small version (7x7). Small ones are good potholders. This size is perfect for countertop protection. If you have a cheaper laminated (Formica®) countertop, you definitely need one of these to keep it from burning. This wonderful cushion protects other countertops from scratches. Very easy to clean and will not break. One last tip: I hang them on the lower kitchen cabinet doors with small hooks. You can also use small nails (pins). Here are some nicer hangers: small hook for clothes, ties, purses, hats, scarves and jewelry - polished brass - set of 5 pieces.
