Not sterling silver

I can't believe it but I do because I checked. I make jewelry and have several shops of my own. I usually find that international sellers tend to put cheap C clasps and adapter rings on their jewelry and then have the sterling chain itself. I'm used to it and I don't care but it happens and I won't say anything about it but these links are all silver not sterling. The code for the pound sterling is 0.925. if you notice the tag says S925. Don't know why it has to have an S on it unless it's silver with some of it in sterling but the item has only been tested in silver not sterling. It really worries me when this happens because if you use this consistently on a particular sterling silver necklace, you'll end up with a grayish piece of chain extender over time. It's sticky for me. Why do companies do this just to save money? They go as far as simply replacing the adapter ring with silver or the clasp end with silver. When I saw this for the first time I was shocked. Now I can see the color change in the distance and it looks grayer to me. I have a trained eye for this because I make and sell and I feel obligated to know what I am selling to my customers. Not everyone is like that and before the unwary buyer realizes it, the return period has already expired. Now you know. It's your decision. Maybe ok if you only use it occasionally to lengthen the necklace but not me. I'm not happy at all. What a problem and I only got them because they said GBP and my regular rate was over. Maybe someone thinks I'm smart, but no. If you do not say anything, the practice will resume again, time will pass, and the buyer will have a gray chain. Now I'm going to Revain to get my money back.

Pros
  • beautiful thing
Cons
