The magnet is not strong enough to magnetize through my phone case (SUPCASE Samsung Galaxy S8+ Case - UNICORN BEETLE). I have to put a magnet on the outside of my case which makes it very hard on the eyes but I don't mind, I don't mind that my phone looks like a Mac. The only problem with this mount is that it rotates clockwise or counterclockwise when driving depending on how my phone is positioned. I ride on the shifter and it's very annoying when it tips over and interferes with my shifting. Sometimes I need to rotate the mount at 12 o'clock and constantly worry that the mount will rotate left and right as it rotates. From time to time I'll put the socket back into the cigarette lighter socket so it's a snug fit and won't rotate but will loosen with movement. Maybe my phones are freezing or the outlet doesn't have enough traction. The cable and magnetic mount itself are quite durable. It doesn't come from that exact tilt, it's just that the entire mount rotates like a minute hand on a clock. For heavier phones, I would recommend car phone mounts that attach to the air conditioner vents or dashboard. If I didn't have a case on my phone I think it would work just fine. ***Update*** After I posted my review, Daisy from SOAIY Customer Service contacted me and expressed her satisfaction with my expectations. They offered a refund without me sending the product back. I replied that it's entirely up to them because I'm still using the product until I find a replacement. +2 stars for customer service.
