We recently bought a boat and wanted a life jacket for our dog to take us to the lake. I like this life jacket for a number of reasons: it's very light and actually helps keep you cool in the sun, it's easy to put on, it's not too tight and it has a tab under the head to prevent that their head falls off or swallowed too much water. She's so tiny she even wears a collar. I didn't know how to put it on but she let me put it on with no problem. There are two straps and a velcro strap that covers her tummy and keeps it secure without being too tight. We also like that there is a "handle" at the top to hold on to if she falls in the water for quick and easy rescue. We took her to check it out and because of the thick belt around her stomach, she didn't seem to mind at all. I can only recommend this dog life jacket. FYI, our dog is about 30 pounds but has a firm chest and belly and the plus size is perfect.
