The lamp was very easy to assemble. Unlike others I've tried, this one mounts in the ceiling itself and not in the junction box, which is perfect for me as I found part of the ceiling just around the junction box had rotted away from a leak before I bought the house 2 months ago. Until I restore it, this light is great. The only drawback is that the device is made of very thin, rather tinted plastic, which has a bluish tint when switched off. It's not trendy or expensive, but it still does the job well. As I like the bright lights in the kitchen I'm only interested in the on/off function of the remote control which works fine at the moment.
