Review on 👶 Cybex e-Priam Complete Stroller: Rocking Mode, Smart Assist Technology, Reversible Seat, True Red Seat with Chrome/Black Frame by Melanie Lewis

I'm a big fan of Cybex strollers, I have a Priam that I use every day and I love it. When I first heard about the ePriam, it struck me as a little useless and unnecessary... and honestly, it's not necessary, but it's actually what makes a luxury stroller a luxury stroller. Luxury is by definition not purely functional, it's those little extras that make life that little bit easier. Besides, it's just cool. That being said, this motorized stroller might not be an absolute necessity, but it is useful. I live at the bottom of a hill, so there are some very steep roads in my area. My property isn't too bad, but there are some very steep roads nearby. My favorite route from the nearby shops to my house is very steep so I took this route for the first time with my old Priam also for the last - it was downright scary trying to keep control of a sidecar going downhill. Hill. No longer a problem with ePriam, I drive this route several times a week. The motorized assistance makes going uphill almost effortless and going down the other side very easy to control. The engine doesn't always run and even when it starts it only does what it has to. There are sensors built into the steering wheel that control the motor based on how hard your hands are pressing on the steering wheel and in which direction. So if you push harder the motor will turn on to help and if you pull the handle back the motor will turn on to slow the stroller down a bit. All this happens quite smoothly, there is no jerking when the engine starts to work. The transition is so smooth that most of the time I don't even notice it. The motor is pretty quiet, but when it's running at maximum it's audible. It's not loud enough to disturb a sleeping child, but unless there's a lot of ambient noise it can be noticeable enough that nearby passers-by turn their heads to look for the source of the noise. When comparing the ePriam and Priam 3, they look pretty much the same, apart from a few small differences that really only catch the eye of the trained eye. Obviously the ePriam is a bit heavier due to the motor and battery. The rear axle, where the battery sits and where the rear wheels are attached, is slightly larger. There is a slim gearbox in each of the rear wheels. The basket attaches to the gear cover with strong little hinges rather than snaps, which I think is a big improvement as the basket on my Priam 3 always comes off, even just putting my diaper bag in it. The most noticeable difference for me is the steering wheel; The ePriam has wider, square bars similar in shape and size to the original Priam, while the Priam 3 has rounder and slightly narrower bars. The Priam 3 also has a leather strap to match the handlebar material, while the ePriam has a nylon strap with warning stickers sewn on. The strollers are otherwise identical and fit the same seat packs and accessories. The battery can be charged both inside and outside the stroller. There is a power switch on the rear axle, so the battery can be turned on and off by sliding the switch in either direction with your foot. Next to the switch is a row of LED indicators that show how much charge is left in the battery. The charging cable has an LED indicator that glows red while charging and turns green when the battery is fully charged. The battery is long and narrow and simply snaps onto the rear axle. It easily fits into the interior once secured in place. Otherwise this stroller has the same features as the Priam 3; foldable with one hand, can stand by itself when folded, two-wheel mode, four-wheel suspension, large retractable hood, reversible seat, adjustable handlebars, etc. TLDR; To be honest, I like this stroller more than I expected.
