I was skeptical when I bought it, at first I was afraid of damaging the phones. But once we're over that. I wonder where it's been all our lives. The adapter fits our round nozzles in the jeep. Since we didn't want to attach it directly to the iPhone, we found that the magnets are very thin. So we just tossed them between the case and the phone. A test run has shown that these magnets are strong enough to hold the case. We tried regular plastic cases and an Otterbox. Both snapped into place with no problems. After testing around town and a towel to grab it just in case. We took a chance, running through the rougher side of Cleveland and then through the central pothole of Toledo. The magnets didn't slip at all and navigation became an instant dream. (I no longer had to hold my phone while he drove!). So we headed into Amish country, we tend to ride off the beaten track and dirt roads. When the buggy was cleared from the beach, we gave our all and it still held up with all our might. Everything we threw at it (including spill-proof cups) didn't budge. This was by far our best purchase!
