I bought a replacement face pad, installed it in about 10 seconds and started using it. It works identically to what came with the Oculus Quest 2. As far as I can tell there is no difference in feel or function. Both are moderately satisfied, there is room for improvement. The smooth increase in foam thickness requires the user to slightly tighten the headband, which compresses the foam to the same thickness as the original for a snug fit. The replacement and original let some light through around the nose, but that doesn't bother me or two kids who also use Oculus (I mean, we all have different head sizes and shapes, and nobody complained about the original). I was hoping for a "WOW, that's amazing!" feeling. nope If you need a replacement, it works the same as the original. I'm not sure why I bought it at this point. Spring.
