Battery life matches the price. Usually a day and a half or so, fast charging. Larger batteries are available and they are worth the price. Programming requires a cable and is locked in transmit mode until you program it. I use it as a radio for our local fire department, it picks up transmissions well without much tweaking. The speaker could have been louder, but it is significantly louder than the UV-5R. He conveys clearly. My only concern is that the screws on the belt clip come loose easily. Usually you have to tighten them every few days. Loc Tite is in his future. The device complies with FCC requirements. I want it to be classified as waterproof.
