Review on Mazuri Rodent Food for Rats and Mice by Courtney Cameron

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Mazuri rat chow is the gold standard for laboratory rats and mice.

Mazuri rat chow is practically the gold standard for rat and mouse lab pads. You can't go wrong. However, there is always room for improvement. Four suggestions from Mazuri. 1) Make it less crumbly and dusty. When rats eat blocks, the blocks leave behind more food dust than most other blocks. This can be improved. 2) Make your lab blocks taste a little better. My girls seem to prefer Oxbow and Kaytee over Mazuri. Of course, I like Mazuri more than these brands for other reasons, but that's another topic. I'm sure mazuri can improve the flavor a bit. 3) Sell your lab units in bulk at lower prices. If you did that, you would beat your competitors. 4) You (Mazuri) might consider making a young rat version of your lab blocks. I know many companies do this. Young rats generally require more protein than older rats. Just a thought. Overall a good product. I can not complain. My rats love it, the vet loves it and I love it in general. One day I tried one of the lab blocks. It's a little tasteless, but honestly not bad (this isn't five star restaurant food, but I think the least I can do for my girls is make sure their food tastes good by trying it myself once try).
