I put about a tablespoon of these charcoals in small cloth bags in the freezer and fridge because there was an odor that couldn't be washed off. Baking soda, dish soap, etc. couldn't get rid of it. This charcoal eliminates odors. A few downsides: it's dusty and rinsing is a hassle unless you have a fine strainer because the particles are so small. Also, dust gets through the cloth bags even after rinsing, but this is solved by putting a plastic cover on top. It was a learning experience, but I plan on putting it in a somewhat outdated storage cupboard.
