I bought this as a phone tripod for classroom recording and it seems perfect for that purpose. The tripod itself is made mostly of thick plastic, but it feels pretty solid. I suspect the rubber feet on the bottom of the feet will fall off first. The phone mount uses a spring loaded clip to hold the phone in place and has foam/rubber pads on the clamping surfaces. The clamping force seems quite strong and I had to use both hands to open it wide enough to slide my phone in, which is a bit of a fiddly process. It gets the job done but doesn't feel as solid as the rest of the tripod. Overall it looks like it will do the job I bought it for.
