Review on 🕰️ Lad Weather Radio Controlled Solar Watch: Perpetual Calendar, Multi Timezone, Military Business Traveler’s Essential by Jessica Coronado

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Decent watch, read the review for important info!

I'm a big fan of solar/atomic watches. I have Citizen's Blue Angels, Citizen's Drive and Casio Rangeman watches which are all solar/atomic watches (for some reason I want to know what time it is when the world ends! LOL). Let's start with that. This watch feels heavy and solid which makes me think it's strong enough. The hour markers have an increment of 5 instead of 12 which I think is unique and only within those numbers is there an increment of 13 to 24 hours I think to simplify military time. I myself mostly use the 24-hour format, which I think makes more sense. To set the clock in the US, you must live within 900 miles of the WWVB Center in Colorado. If not, you cannot use atomic timing. but wait! After reading other reviews, you can download the WWVB emulator on your phone, open it and use it to set the playback time! If you buy a $70 solar/atomic clock from Amazon, I'm assuming you're doing it on your smartphone so you can download the app. That's easy. Like any sundial, it was probably stored in a box on a shelf with no light, so leave it in the sun for a while. On my Rangeman I learned that the window actually blocks a lot of light from the watch, so an hour or so in direct sunlight (certainly not in a mid-summer driveway) gives the watch a significant performance boost. Then you set the day and date, align the hands at 12 o'clock, press the crown again and the watch sets itself. This helps either point the watch at the WWVB center in Colorado or place it next to the emulator app on your phone. I've found the clock to run a second faster than the emulator app on my phone, but I don't think I'll be in a position where precise seconds mean life or death, so I can live with that. be good to go The process is a lot more intense than pricier options like the Citizen, but it's a good watch for a lot less money. Did this review help you?
