Review on πŸ“± MMOBIEL iPad 2 Digitizer Replacement Kit - Black 9.7 Inch Touchscreen Front Display Assembly with Tools Included by Bobby Posner

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great purchase, easy replacement - wish there was 2-sided tape pre-installed on the fascia frame.

Everything identified was included in the box. However, there are no instructions, so if you haven't changed your Ipad2 screen before, I would recommend watching some videos. I had an idea on how to replace the iPad2 screen but there are YouTube videos to walk you through the process. I found a 49 minute video showing the whole process step by step. In addition to the tools provided, you'll need a heat gun, latex gloves, and double-sided tape (required for the bezel). You may also need a 7/16 or 1/2 socket and a hammer or file if you have corner damage. Allow 2 to 3 hours to replace the screen. I followed the video by watching each step, pausing the video, and then doing the step. I used a heat gun to heat the edges of my old screen. I think you can use a blow dryer if you don't have a heat gun but they say it might take longer. Be patient when removing a damaged screen, there are some wifi and cellular antenna cables you can damage and you can also damage the LCD which can be replaced but is expensive in comparison. The included tools make it possible. Make sure you have room to store the small screws when you take them out. After removing the screen and setting the LCD aside, I removed the bezel. I had cracked corners on my Ipad2, 3 out of 4. In the video they discussed how to fix cracked corners but they don't show you how. Taking her advice, I placed the 7/16 socket from my socket set into the damaged corner and tapped it lightly (I mean lightly) with a hammer until the radius matched the socket. If you don't repair the damaged corners, the edging frame will not fit properly. The only issue I had with the kit was that the bezel doesn't come pre-assembled with tape like the replacement screen does. That's why I needed double-sided tape. Installing the bezel frame took me the most time because I had to go out and buy double sided tape ($6 from my local hardware store). Once the frame was in place, everything else went pretty quickly. "Plus: Home button, camera mount and pre-installed adhesive tape on the screen. Most other products from iPad2 vendors do not include these items, making installation much more difficult. Price The quality of the screen is as good as the original. The tools were sufficient for the job, but they must include a flat pick in the package. Cons: Bezel. The frame doesn't come preinstalled with self-adhesive tape, and double-sided tape costs extra dollars to purchase. No instructions - I most likely would have provided them anyway instead of the video which was mostly step by step.
