Review on BEWITU Plastic Starter Kit - Ultra-Strength Adhesive for Kitchen Use by Adam Taylor

Obvious alternative in some situations

Having used all types of adhesives for years I was interested in trying this product. I was also interested to see how this UV glue would work as the material is very similar to the UV resin used in my 3D printer. at least in principle. The glue is a thick liquid, similar in consistency to superglue gel, and is then cured with UV light, giving you a somewhat flexible plastic. The adhesive is stored in the flexible tubular part of the applicator, so it is very easy to dose with light finger pressure and can be applied precisely with the thin metal tip. Although you're buying an LED tool, you're not getting a lot of glue for the price (currently $15.99), so that's a reason to take the star off. The adhesive is crystal clear and therefore works best on transparent materials such as glass or plastic. This is also very important as the glue requires UV curing and therefore will not cure if protected from light. Any repair of opaque materials is done by applying layers of adhesive to the tear surface. Unlike most UV resins, this material does not cure. Its finished state has the softness and flexibility of glue sticks used in hot glue guns. I also noticed that the glue leaves a sticky residue on the surface despite prolonged UV exposure. I put some of my repaired objects in a UV curing chamber and there was still uncured material on their surface. It wipes off easily with isopropyl alcohol but leaves the cured adhesive underneath stuck. I'm not sure if this is a material defect, but when using resins for 3D printing you need to shake the material as slight delamination can occur. It looks like the tube could be reusable so I'm really looking forward to trying this with some of my 3D printing resins once I use it. In general, the adhesive adheres well to most materials and can be applied easily and precisely. dries quickly but due to the many adhesives this may not always be the best choice for your repair.
