A few years ago I switched to a stool at work. Sitting in an ordinary chair all day made my back weak. The stool helps me keep my core in shape. Still, at the end of the day, I lost heart. I kept running trying to find the right angle to keep my back straight without feeling like I was squatting all day. I bought BackJoy because the author of Crooked recommended it on the side. It helped me. I sit up straighter, fidget less and don't sag at the end of the day. It offers enough support to keep me upright. Much better than the wedge pillows I've tried. But it also has enough flexibility to keep my core muscles engaged. My only complaint is that I still haven't found a good way to attach it to a bar stool. It slips and falls when I get up. I've tried tying it with fishing line, but 1) it looks a bit silly to work with and 2) there just aren't any good attachment points. I can prevent it from falling, but it still slides. Maybe I should just epoxidize it in place.
