to scrape very stubborn algae in a glass aquarium. does the job very well. All you have to do is remove the spare blades from the top before use as they will fill with water and then allow the inside of the top to dry completely before storing them back there. It's nice and long so I don't have to wet my whole hand anymore, just my hand. So far it has been used (rarely) for a few years and maybe it hasn't rusted because I dried it between uses. I think I rinsed it thoroughly before use in case there is any production residue that might harm the fish, but it appears to be perfectly intact and doesn't sink for long anyway as it quickly removes the horrendous tough algae.
