Coax output from my older TV didn't work with this DAC. I listened with my earphones and when I turned the DAC power on, I heard a higher frequency for about 2 seconds and then, a steady garbled lower frequency noise. I assume the higher frequency was some kind of preamble and the lower frequency was the actual PCM stream.I tested it with a newer TV using the optical connection and that part worked. It's the older Sharp TV might not support the PCM/Toslink specifications in use today.A minor note: The product container shows a complete 5v power supply and cable. A power supply is notincluded, only a USB power cord. You have to supply the 5v power block.
