They look like real candles only under certain conditions.

So here is the difference between these and my much more expensive Luminara candles. They are a much deeper golden color which is great BUT it looks less natural than the lighter Luminara Flame. But it's not a deal breaker. Much more noticeably different is how the light is reflected from the surface. So if you put these candles on a bookshelf for example (which is one of the advantages of artificial candles, you can put them on something like an enclosed shelf right?), the light reflected on the surface above the candle will be very artificial and be unnatural. -Looking for. There is a specific, static oval of light where there is an opening under the flickering "flame" and then the flickering light of the flame and the shadows dance around it. Luminara, on the other hand, simply shows a flickering light, like a real candle. So if they're going up high, or in high halters, or where they're being looked at head-on, they're doing their job. But when they think about something about themselves, the candle illusion doesn't work at all. So think about where and how you want to use them. When properly tuned, they can work well and are a lot cheaper than Luminaras IF you work around their limitations.
