Yes it works. In hindsight I could have just bought a brand new Baofeng 5r (with charger) but it works and performs as expected.

I bought this device to replace one I had (which mysteriously grew legs and I used to walk). That worked and my UV-5R batteries are now fully charged. Thanks again!

This is an older discontinued charger with only 2 charging leads that was discontinued due to fire hazard as it could overcharge the battery. Look for a newer model with overcharge protection.

This works fine but you have to wiggle the power cord real good and then not breathe on it mate or you'll lose the power connection. I think that's the best a man can hope for considering he's from China.

What you see is what you get. No complaints. This charger is unbranded (ie not from Baofeng); You can tell by comparing two side by side. However, it works exactly the same, so I now have one charger at home and one in the truck.
