Got these on the recommendation of my husband's doctor, he suffered a serious head injury two years ago aged 23. He has left-sided weakness and muscle contractures. Therefore, this brace is great for keeping your hand open instead of curling it up into a palm. We have to use wrist braces at night to keep him from fiddling with his diapers, feeding tube and tracheostomy and they are easily compatible with these straps! They're stuffed really well, so it doesn't bother him anywhere and he doesn't seem to mind wearing them, which is important.
