This is a huge advantage over typing without wrist support. I'm not sure if the "vent" in the middle is necessary as I usually rest my wrists on the outer large parts of the rubber and rarely use the middle part where the groove is. My problem is that the dirt and oil from my skin sticks to it and it gets a lot dirtier than the Fellowes gel mouse pad I bought at the same time. It's still fairly easy to clean, although I usually have to use a paper towel dipped in soapy water or some rubbing alcohol to remove stains. Fellowes doesn't have this problem, although the materials feel almost identical. Finally, some spots on the surface have started to crack or blister and are starting to peel off. Again, there are no such issues with my Fellowes product.
