My cheap desk surface was looking a little worn and I figured a desk pad would make it nicer and serve as a good mouse surface. I used to try one made out of neoprene but it wasn't the right size (not big enough), it was too thick and its surface always looked dirty due to the fabric used. I really like this particular desk stand because it fits on the desk, isn't very thick (which is good if I put the laptop aside and it partially detaches from the base) and wipes clean easily. . The edges don't fray either. The extra mouse pad is great for my desktop mouse and the reversible color is a bonus, although I have yet to flip it. I've been using this desk and mouse pad for a month now and they still look brand new. I'm very happy with the look and function of these pads so if the size suits your needs it's easy to recommend.
