Review on Readaeer Bookrest and Document Holder for Enhanced Reading Experience by Seth Singh

Small books don't lie flat, large books tip over

I like the compactness of this stand and the overall design. However, it didn't work for my use case with different books, so I'm sending mine back. Here is my experience with the three types of reading material: Magazines - Works very well. Hardcover Books - Works well with medium sized hardcover books. I've found that large books, say 2.5 to 3 inches thick, even if they aren't heavy, tend to tip them backwards. I've also found that very small books, say 1/2 inch to 3/4 inch thick, don't hold flat. The clips aren't strong enough so that one side lays flat and the other detaches from the stand and the side starts to curl. Reading in this form is too uncomfortable. Paperbacks - this doesn't work at all as they don't lay flat compared to an open backed coaster. The two coasters I linked below (both are basically the same) are better for medium sized books. -Stow Book Stand, Black "Magabooks" / "Bookazines" - doesn't work like paperbacks for the same reason. If anyone has had a similar experience and can recommend a universal stand for most types of books (and ideally) I'd love to hear about it in the comments.
