Smells like exhaust or gas
These pillowcases are exactly as pictured. I ordered my regular sofa cushions to cover for Christmas. Unfortunately, my covers also stank when they arrived. Although I would describe the smell of truck exhaust or gasoline, not the smell of detergent. I soaked my cases in baking soda overnight and it took out about 75% of the odor. I then washed inside out on a gentle cycle and dried on the low side for about 15 minutes before air drying. They held up well, I sprayed them with Febreze and they lasted a month or two.
