They are fairly easy to make, although getting a newborn cast is quite difficult. Some of the tricky stuff is shaping and getting the print before it dries. We had to use a brush to apply pressure and enhance the prints because they were difficult to see. When they dried, there were many cracks all over. Using white paint to cover the cracks was quite successful, but there was very little paint left. When we tried to paint the legs, the paint colors came out very light. The pink is not soft pink as shown in the picture - it's pink and not cute at all. We messed up our first one trying to get a good color (tried pink, yellow, and red; none looked good). We'll spray them or buy the best paints at an art supply store. All in all, it's a relatively fun conversation between newborn feedings.
