After reading countless reviews from Epson and others I bought the 1670 scanner but made sure to download the latest driver (for Windows XP) before doing so I even started the installation. So everything went very smoothly and I started scanning almost immediately. It's true that the interactive instructions aren't the best, but a little learning time will clear most things up. Some fifty-year-old color slides could easily be scanned and made at high magnification for e-mailing or printing. With the current discount this is a very good price and I am quite satisfied. May I never need tech support!
