No finger protection! for men

These are the worst shoes I have ever owned in terms of protection. It's a shame because otherwise they're comfortable, breathable and have good traction, but I've worn them 100 miles twice and ended up with a horrible bump of six toenails between races. I've never had that in any other shoe and this isn't my first rodeo. No toe protection. You might as well hit that rock or root with your bare toe. Once I didn't even hit hard and my toe turned into a bloody mess with a misaligned toenail. I will never race in them again, I shouldn't have even given them a second chance. I usually run long distances without bumping anything, if you can run a hundo without hitting that awkward spot where you stub your foot here and there, that's fine, but most people who run ultras in it will lose their nails unnecessarily.
