Solving Low Tech Problems

I ALWAYS wear my seat belt. My parents are so ingrained in it that I feel uncomfortable driving even a few yards without it. I also insist that all passengers in my car wear seat belts. I think you should too! With that in mind, I bought this device to solve a high-tech problem with a low-tech, inexpensive solution. There is a sensor on the passenger seat of my 2015 Jetta that detects if there is a person in it. When the sensor detects a person, an alarm sounds to buckle up. The problem is that the sensor is so sensitive that even the weight of a phone charger cable will work. Sometimes two or three sheets of paper can also be used. This is no exaggeration. While the car was still under warranty I took it to the dealer who told me it was a feature and not a bug. There is a way to turn off the seat belt alarm for the entire car, but I don't want that. If someone else is driving my car, I want the driver alarm to work. So this sleek, low-tech solution allowed me to place USB cords and mail in an empty passenger seat without sounding an alarm every 30 seconds. It saved my sanity (what was left of it).
